Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-10
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using ContentRank (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. The Service
ContentRank is a comparative content scoring service. Users submit two URLs or text excerpts, and the Service produces a structured comparison across nine quality axes, anchored on exact passages from each text.
The Service is currently provided gratis under a soft launch. Pricing and accounts may be introduced later, with notice and grandfathered terms for existing usage.
3. User submissions
When you submit URLs or text excerpts to the Service:
- ·Public visibility. Match results, including the URLs you submitted, the text content extracted, the per-axis verdicts, and the anchored citations, may become publicly accessible at a stable URL of the form
/match/{hash}. Other users may discover, view, and share these matches. - ·Pasted text. If you paste text content, that content is stored, processed, and may be displayed publicly as part of the match record. Don't paste text you wouldn't want others to read.
- ·License you grant. You grant ContentRank a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to extract, store, display, and process the content you submit, solely for the purpose of operating the Service (including caching extractions, embedding similarity computation, and displaying public match pages).
- ·Your responsibility. You confirm that submitting the content does not infringe third-party rights (copyright, privacy, etc.) and is consistent with applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- ·Submit content you don't have the right to submit.
- ·Submit content designed to manipulate the scoring system (prompt injection, adversarial inputs targeting the LLM-as-a-judge).
- ·Scrape the Service, automate submissions, or attempt to bypass rate limits or anti-abuse measures.
- ·Use the Service to harass, defame, or target individuals.
- ·Reverse-engineer the Service's prompts, weights, or implementation.
5. Methodology and scoring
The methodology is described publicly on the methodology page, with a versioned changelog. Scores are produced by a multi-stage pipeline (extraction, qualitative comparison via LLM-as-a-judge, deterministic math, Glicko-2 graph aggregation). Scores are statistical estimates and may evolve as the methodology iterates. The Service makes no warranty as to absolute accuracy, factual correctness, or fitness for any particular purpose. The methodology page details the limits.
6. Intellectual property
The Service's methodology, brand, code, prompts, and aggregated rankings are owned by Anthony Gosme (the ContentRank publisher, see legal notice). The 9 axes definitions, verdict labels, Glicko-2 update logic, and concordance formula are public (see methodology). The exact prompt text and certain implementation details remain proprietary. You retain ownership of the original content you submit, subject to the license granted in section 3.
7. No warranty, limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. ContentRank does not guarantee continuous availability, error-free operation, or any specific score for any submitted content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ContentRank's total liability arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred euros, whichever is greater.
8. Removal requests
If you believe a match record contains content you did not authorise, infringes your rights, or breaches privacy or applicable law, contact us at our contact form. We will review removal requests in good faith. The Service reserves the right to remove or hide any match record at our discretion to comply with legal obligations or protect the integrity of the rankings.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent French courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
